This house was a lot of fun to shoot and as soon as I walked in the door, I knew this scene was going to be super important to capture, and also a challenge.
The before image above is a single exposure out of the camera. As you can see, the view is completely washed out, the dark floor is very difficult to make out, the lighting in the different rooms is very uneven, and there are distracting color casts on all surfaces.
My method for shooting this space was to start from a base exposure that shows the view, and then use artificial lighting to bring up the brightness on all areas of the interior while maintaining the natural look of the light. The final photo was a composite of ~10 photos, hand-blended in Photoshop.
